The Blues, Gospel and a Medley of Holiday Favorites!

Fall in Love with the Holidays all over again!

Come and enjoy the Blues, Gospel and Holiday classics in a special performance by The Mike Strickland Trio and guest vocalist Julianne R. Johnson. For years, The Mike Strickland Trio has delighted Northwest and national audiences with lush arrangements of popular and original music, Blues, Jazz, classical and piano-busting boogie-woogie numbers. Joining the Trio for this special Gospel and Holiday concert is Portland’s own soulful singer Julianne R. Johnson.

As a gifted arranger, piano stylist and composer, Mike Strickland’s eclectic sets highlight the superb individual talents of each group member. Playing all styles on acoustic and electric bass, Clipper Anderson is a composer, studio musician, vocalist and educator. Master of saxophones, flutes and clarinet, Jack Klitzman has appeared in concert with such artists as Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, Gladys Knight and the Four Tops, among many others. Besides being director of Vocal Music at Portland Community College, Julianne R. Johnson’s musical talents have been or will be seen in Portland productions of Dreamgirls, The Wiz, Gypsy and as a co-star in Michael Allen Harrison’s production of Prometheus.
